Suluq Pumping Station, Benghazi, Libya

During the nineties, the water supply of Benghazi was secured from nearby deep wells and water treatment plants in Benina and Sidi Mansur

With four pumps operating in parallel, Suluq pump station can pump up to 11600m³/h of water into the new Talheya reservoir. This reservoir has a capacity of 200000m³ and is used for intermediate storage and peak water demand balancing.

The project was awarded to a consortium. Within this consortium ABB Germany was consortium leader and was responsible for the complete electrical and mechanical work.
