Field Information Manager supports Loop Check of nodes and connected field devices in conjunction with ABB Ability™ System 800xA.
Note:
Loop Check requires at least system version 6.1. Please find detailed information about supported ABB
Ability™ System 800xA versions in the corresponding tab on the download website:
https://new.abb.com/control-systems/fieldbus-solutions/fim/free-trial-software
It can be started for a dedicated node, a user-selected list of nodes, or all nodes contained in a project.
The Loop Check can be opened through Tools Menu - LOOP CHECK, or via MORE - LOOP CHECK within the Device Tile Context Menu.
The Loop Check view provides an overview about the status of displayed nodes, while the detailed grid can be filtered and used to select and configure nodes for Loop Check.
Note:
Automated Loop Check is supported for HART, PROFIBUS PA and PROFINET devices.
Profile 4.02 must be supported by the PROFINET device for Loop Check.
The primary process value must be provided on the first function block according to Profile 4.02. Please also ensure that the order of function blocks in ABB Ability™ System 800xA is not changed after importing the corresponding GSDML file of the PROFINET device.
Other device types or not connected nodes can be covered with a manual documentation dialog.
After execution, details about each node and performed test groups can be displayed for each node. In case of a failed Loop Check, additional status information in each test group provides the possible cause and suggested actions to pass Loop Check.
The results of the Loop Check can be exported to CSV and PDF file format for further use.
The Audit Trail diagram of the Dashboard includes each executed Loop Check for a node with a connected field device.
