PROFINET now provides many of the features of PROFIBUS DP on an ethernet backbone. It can integrate with a wide range of automation protocols via gateways. Our communication card model CI871 enables PROFINET communication in System 800xA.
With PROFINET, which has a wider bandwidth than PROFIBUS, even more advanced integration of process electrification is available. PROFINET is based on Ethernet.
