Leading traction technology with local production and service support

Setting a new standard of excellence

ABB has established a Traction Centre of Excellence in Maryborough to serve as a strategic hub for high-quality traction equipment for trains, mining trucks, electric buses, and other similar applications.

As Australia’s first-ever local production of traction converters and motors, this facility is producing traction converters and motors for the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP), as well as for other projects throughout Australia and New Zealand. Additionally, ABB has set up a service center for its Traction Battery at the same location to support ongoing projects.
