The OVR QuickSafe surge protective devices combine the patented thermal separation technology from ABB with a back-up protection system. This ensures that electrical installations – including critical business installations, i.e. in extreme conditions (up to +80°C rated temp) – are continuously protected against damage in case of any abnormal supply fault (for example a disconnected neutral connection). An indicator on the front of the device for an easier inspection of equipment and signaling contact points out to the maintenance staff the damaged component to be replaced while the second one still protects the installation. This specific back-up feature enables the operator to replace the surge protective device without interrupting operation or services.
