Fire retardant boxes (EI30 and EI60)

Mounting box AU60.10FR and ceiling junction box AU70FR

The AU60.10FR and AU70FR contains a fire cushion, made of expanding material, that prevents fire from spreading to walls and ceilings. Fire-retardant AU60.10FR and AU70FR boxes can be installed in EI30 and EI60-fire-rated ceilings and walls. (fire-rated plasterboard ceiling/wall according to the plasterboard manufacturer’s or structural engineer’s instructions).


 

Properties

• Includes expanding fire cushion to prevent fire from spreading to ceiling and roof structures.
• Can be used with boards of different thicknesses and board combinations without accessories due to adapter rings.
• Adapter rings and box covers are made of post-consumer recycled plastic and reducers are made of post-industrial recycled plastic.
• Made of halogen free material (IEC/61249-2-21).

Installation

 Suitable 1 - 2 - 3 layers of EI30 and EI60 gypsum walls with thickness 12,5 – 40mm without accessories.
 The fire-rated ceiling junction box can be installed in both load-bearing and non-load-bearing roof structures, and can be used with both intermediate floors and roofs.

Fire cushion expands when the temperature rises as a result of fire. The expansion of the material in the event of fire seals the box, so the wall or ceiling structure retains it's specified fire rating.

The AU70FR box is fastened to the base with four fastening screws. When installing, it should also be noted that above the box there is a minimum amount of insulation specified by the structure.
