Bruce A. Strupp Jr. joined ABB Marine & Ports team in 2019 leading the development of the Ferry Segment for North America. With over 25 years of experience in the industry, Bruce was able to hit the ground running supporting the award-winning project -
Maid of the Mist Fully Electric Vessels. Shortly after that, he and his team were awarded
Washington State Ferries ‘Olympic Class’ ferries project - which he emphasizes it was one of most satisfying career accomplishments to date, and just recently
Casco Bay Lines Hybrid Ferry project. Prior to joining ABB, Bruce worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 21 years.
Bruce’s kids keep him busy in between sports practices and games. His two girls participate in swimming, soccer and softball and his son in swimming, baseball, basketball, and boy scouts. Bruce’s oldest daughter will be starting college in fall and will be studying engineering and playing softball. “One of my great joys and frustrations has been to coach my kids in sports.”, he said recently.
Growing up in Reading, PA he is by default big Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles fan. Warm weather and the beach are his favorite vacation, and he usually takes an annual family vacation to the beach in Wildwood, NJ.
If you have been on a video call with Bruce during the past year, you would often see his dogs Carley or Lulu sitting patiently through calls, both dogs are rescues.
