Meet the team – Erin Hartquist Mrs. Erin Hartquist was appointed as ABB Marine & Ports Division Manager for the Americas region in 2020. In this role, Erin leads the region focusing on activities in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, and Panama. Erin has a strong financial background and has held several regional and global roles within ABB in the past.
Taking over the largest region of Marine & Ports during the pandemic wasn’t an easy task, but Erin knew exactly what to do. Her number one priority was her team. The core of everything ABB does is the team she deeply cares about. And so, the challenge began.
“I am proud of my career at ABB and the hard work that I have contributed to our team’s success. But I am mostly proud of being part of a real movement in the
maritime industry—the shift to more sustainable maritime operations. I have been involved in several aspects of our recent projects with Maid of the Mist and with Washington State Ferries, which are a clear indication of how the industry is ready to adopt new technologies. We believe that vessels will be electric, digital, and connected in the near future, and I am excited to be leading a fantastic team to make that happen.” Erin said in an interview after being selected as Top Women in Maritime.
Growing up in Nebraska, Erin understood at an early age the importance of sustainable living. Now she is proud to lead a team that focus on adopting the latest technology in maritime while staying in the forefront of driving the evolution of sustainable shipping.
She enjoys spending time at parks and at the pool with her son and her husband, while also getting to know new
“hometown” in Houston, TX where her family moved earlier in the year.
Erin has been with ABB for over 12 years and has an in-depth knowledge of the marine and ports industries. She holds an MBA from Florida International University and has completed an executive education program at Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania.
