ABB’s ZX series gas insulated primary switchgear is designed to offer the ideal combination of flexibility, reliability, availability, safety and economy for industrial and utility applications up to 40.5 kV.

Housed in robust metal enclosures, the ZX series design features hermetically sealed pressure systems to ensure that it remains gas-tight throughout a long service life. The use of vacuum circuit-breakers together with digital protection and control technology, sensor system and plug-in connections makes the ZX series easy to install, operate and maintain as well as offering a truly future-proof solution.

Compact system for distribution applications in two basic versions: block and individual panel design.

Installation against a wall or free standing. Both local manual operation and remote control are facilitated. Together with vacuum circuit-breakers, there are switch-disconnectors with and without fuses available.

Installation against a wall or free-standing in the room. All systems have mechanical controls for local operation, but can also be remote controlled with optional motorized mechanisms for the three position disconnectors. Together with vacuum circuit-breakers, ZX0.2 also offers three position switch disconnector and fuse combinations (up to 24 kV).

The required panel depth for both installation methods is 1330 mm. The width of a function (feeder or sectionalizer) is always a multiple of 600mm. Cable connection is effected via an outer cone system suitable for the current rating with access from the front.

ZX1.2 switchgear consists of metal-partitioned circuit breaker and busbar gas compartment for single busbar applications with customer friendly aspects like a very high cable fixing point. The cables are accessible from the rear. All switching devices can be remote controlled and as an option mechanically interlocked.

It combines progressive and future-oriented concepts and technologies, which include a high flexibility for measuring systems combined with digital bay control technologies or conventional devices as well as plug-in technology at all ends for easy installation. Either signal detection by sensors or instrument transformers together with a direct bus to station automation system or conventionally by wire to the control center is available.

ZX2 switchgear consists of metal-partitioned circuit breaker and busbar gas compartments either for double busbar or single busbar applications. The cables are accessible from the rear. All switching devices can be remote controlled and as an option mechanically interlocked.
