ABB India’s IEC LV motors division bagged the Innovation Award for its groundbreaking IE5 SynRM motor at the prestigious Engineering Excellence Award – 2023, held in Pune, India. The company was conferred with this recognition for its IE5 SynRM motors which have revolutionized electric motors by setting new standards in energy efficiency and sustainability.

IE5 SynRM motors belong to the International Electrotechnical Commission's (IEC) highest energy efficiency class, IE5, which signifies an unprecedented level of performance and sustainability. With no usage of any rare earth magnets, the synchronous reluctance technology combines the performance of permanent magnet motors with the ease of use, and serviceability of squirrel cage induction motors.
