ABB’s recent Latin America Channel Partner Event, hosted by ABB Electrification in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, saw four exceptional businesses awarded ABB Value Provider Program (VPP) status. A.C.C. MEX, ACS, Badesa and Protecsa - four organizations with very different specializations, share the prestigious certification that guarantees customers deal with best-in-class providers, delivering outstanding value in their areas of interest.
The group-wide, global channel partnership program has been adapted as a vital tool in Electrification Service (ELSE) division’s new Go-to-Market strategy, and potential channel partners were carefully assessed and required to demonstrate the depth of their knowledge both of their own markets and also of the ABB products and processes associated with their fields before receiving authorization.
The selection process also took into account geographical presences to enable further growth of the ABB installed base and access to territories or segments where the company has hitherto had limited domain.
Mexico was identified as an ideal pilot country for ELSE’s Value Provider Program due to its unique position whereby its electrical equipment conforms to both International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) technical standards. Additionally, it already enjoys strong links with its channel partners, including all four Mexico-based businesses selected as ELSE Mexico’s service partners:
- Software company A.C.C. MEX, based in Santiago de Queretaro, is a technology solution provider and existing service provider for ABB ELSE’s Smart Power (ELSP) division and potentially also for our Distribution Solutions (ELDS). A leader in automation, A.C.C. MEX offers unrivalled technical expertise in after-sales activities and specializes in panel building for motor control centers.
- ACS is an existing technical distributor company for ELSE and commercial partner for Electrification Smart Buildings (ELSB). Based in Cancun, this panel builder for main- and sub-distribution switchboards is already licensed for ABB’s MNS low-voltage switchgear solutions.
- Badesa, based in Monterrey, is ELSE Mexico’s biggest customer and one of the leading industrial electrical equipment distributors in the country, providing an instant extension to our market access. As well as consultancy and commissioning business for low-voltage equipment, they also work with ABB’s Motion and Process Automation divisions.
- Protecsa Automation Engineering, based in Queretaro but also sited in Houston, USA, will deliver ABB solutions for LV modernization kits and for fixed and automatic power correction capacitor banks. With vast experience in developing these and in retrofit solutions for motor control centers, they are well positioned to develop Mexico’s energy solutions and have strong links with key customers in the utilities, oil and gas segments and other types of heavy industry, holding certifications which are essential when trading in Mexico.
Ivan Pasechnik, Global Value Partner Program Manager, said: “We congratulate all four partners on achieving VPP status. They specialize in different areas but together will further strengthen our central Mexico base for LV retrofit modernization kits and fixed and automatic power-correction capacitor banks.
“Targeting these two areas will help ELSE Mexico increase market share, focus on profitable market segments and extend our services so that more customers can benefit from ABB’s unrivalled knowledge and service.”
Although each business is an established and successful engineering company in its own right, partners must undertake regular training to ensure their product, industry and technical knowledge remains of the highest standard. VPP accreditation also allows partners to access the latest ABB tools and resources, including product updates, service notes, continuous training and technical support from the company’s dedicated team of experts.
