ABB was recognized for business excellence in the consultancy and engineering sector, as well as offering innovative and timely solutions with exemplar project delivery performance.
“Our local ABB team are committed to understanding our customers’ needs. We are excited to win this award and will continue our commitment to helping our customers succeed,” said Kevin Walls, Engineering Manager, UK, who accepted the award.
ABB’s North East UK office contributes to the industry in the areas of maintenance and reliability, decommissioning and demolition management, inspection, integrity management, process safety, projects, technical engineering and cyber security. The local team also provides support for charity projects, with vital funds raised in 2019 for Children in Need, MacMillan Cancer Support, and Comic Relief, as well as foodbanks.
NEPIC is the North East Process Industry Cluster, a membership organization in North-East England working collaboratively with members to support sustainable growth in the chemicals industry. On behalf of ABB winning the award, NEPIC will provide a £2,000 cash donation to fund a scientific project at Northfields School and Sports College.
“We are absolutely delighted to receive the donation from ABB… it allows us to further our work with our science club pupils who are starting some outreach work with local primary schools,” said a spokesperson from the college.
As a digital technology leader, ABB is investing in innovation and supporting wider efforts to promote sustainability for the energy transition. For more information about ABB’s Chemicals business, visit our website. You can also find out more about ABB in the UK.
