Virtual maintenance and 24/7 self-service support to enhance ABB Smart Home digital services

  • The new ProService Portal for installers lifts customer support efficiency for the installer and speeds up response time for homeowners
  • Enriched available digital services for ABB smart homes
  • New unique AI self-service customer support for homeowners and easy-to-use digital portals available for both installers and homeowners

ABB launched its latest specialized digital service at the Light + Building 2022 trade fair today in Frankfurt with the introduction of its new ProService Portal aimed at installers of smart home technology. The new installer portal is expected to reduce the need on-site maintenance by offering remote support maintenance and cloud back-up to fix issues and restore services swiftly and efficiently and will be available globally from November 2022.

Providing remote access, granted by the homeowners to the installer for a maximum of 24 hours, the ProService Portal is connected by secure end-to-end encryption to the customer’s System Access Point. This enables the installer to make any necessary adjustments and changes, or update firmware virtually resulting in improved customer support for the installer, and faster response time for homeowners requiring installation support. No travel time is required and no need to schedule an onsite appointment.

The homeowner has complete visibility of any access or work done on their system, with detailed logs show the homeowner exactly what has been changed, by whom, and when. And, for peace of mind, they can revoke access rights at any time. Like the homeowner focused MyBuildings portal, introduced in 2018, the ProService Portal is secured by ABB protection, its proprietary online security system.

Christian Kruppa, Global Product Specialist at ABB Electrification’s Smart Buildings division said, “Introducing the ProService Portal will markedly enhance the user-experience for both installers of our smart home technologies and homeowners. Response times are drastically reduced with problems resolved in real time, safely and securely, ensuring installations are efficiently implemented and customer peace of mind upheld. It underscores ABB’s commitment to being innovators in smart homes technology and services.”

The ProService Portal is the latest addition to ABB’s digital services for the smart home ecosystem. ABB’s digital services also include the new and unique Mavenoid AI-powered self-service customer support tool available for ABB-free@home® and ABB-Welcome systems, and the MyBuildings Portal which allows users to look after their homes anytime, anywhere with third party integrations available, and supported by a range of security features.

Both the ProService and MyBuildings portals are the one-stop-shop for services of the smart home offering to installers and homeowners, respectively. The services are available for free, with the possibility to upgrade to a premium subscription plan to increase either the number of devices for home control or the number of installations to supervise and maintain.
