POGC (PGNiG) is a Polish state-controlled oil and natural gas company, which deals with the exploration and production of natural gas and crude oil, natural gas import, storage and distribution and sales of natural gas and crude oil. PGNiG is one of the largest companies in Poland and is listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
ABB has a long-term business relationship and has acted as a vendor for many compression packages as well as for automation and electrification products.
The LMG oil and gas plant was erected In the western part of Poland and is the biggest plant of its type in this part of Europe. ABB has delivered its service to an EPC contractor – PBG.
For the LMG project, amongst various other systems (control, safety, electrical etc.) ABB has delivered 7 compressing packages for 3 different installations:
- 3 packages for sour gas including VFD-driven 630kW electrical motors,
- 3 packages for sweet gas including VFD-driven 900kW electrical motors,
- 1 package for deethanization process including 110kW electrical motor.
The delivery was performed in a turn-key formula and included full package engineering, packaging, delivery to the site, assembly and commissioning, as well as 3-years warranty period service.
Staying on schedule and meeting site specific requirements were essential for the LMG project. ABB helped meet these deadlines and requirements while providing quality performance throughout the project. As a result of successful execution of the project, ABB has also been rewarded a service agreement for the next years of the unit's operation.
