The C351 process controller was launched in November 1998. It enabled control of a single PID loop using a number of application templates (for example, single loop, auto / manual station and analog backup). The C351 was available with a comprehensive I/O capability and math & logic equations among other software features.
In September 2010, the C351 was superseded by the ControlMaster CM30 universal process controller. The CM30 uses ABB’s common instrumentation platform HMI and features a new, full color TFT display enabling uniquely customizable operator displays. The CM30 also features ethernet communications, profile control and bank control functionality as well as the features previously available on the C351. All features are accessible through the front panel of the controller without the need for PC configuration software.
