The Commander C360 multi-recipe profile controller was launched in December 1998. It provided configuration of up to 20 profiles with a total of 99 segments available. A dedicated faceplate for ramp / soak profiling enabled easy operation and understanding of which segment of the profile was currently in operation. Special features included guaranteed ramp / soak, self-seeking setpoint and math and logic equations.
In September 2010, the C360 was superseded by the ControlMaster CM30 universal process controller. The CM30 uses ABB’s common instrumentation platform HMI and features a new, full color TFT display enabling both control loops in the new dual control template to be displayed simultaneously in a single operator view. The CM30 also features ethernet communications, profile control and bank control functionality as well as the features previously available on the C360. All features are accessible via the front panel of the controller without the need for PC configuration software.
