The AC 800F controllers support PROFIBUS DP and DP V1 standards. This means that the engineering software can program field devices online. For this project, ABB utilized 161 PA devices, including ABB temperature transmitters, standard and differential pressure transmitters, and instruments from other vendors. The various field device vendors have adhered to the PROFIBUS standards for communication, which makes it possible to have a unified way of configuring as well as communicating with these devices.
