The NXB is a new SF6 load break, fault make switch suitable for both conventional overhead lines and BLX type lines with insulated conductors and specifically designed for use in modern telecontrolled distribution automation systems. The NXB offers reliable maintenance free operation even in the most demanding climatic conditions including salt laden atmospheres, corrosive industrial pollution, snow and ice.

The optional motor operating device of NXB is integrated in the spring mechanism and connected to the control box by a control cable. The need of mechanical linkages and adjustments is eliminated. Manual operation is possible by turning the operation lever by an insulated hook stick. Safe and easy earthing is possible by operating the switch to earthed position by three-position mechanism.
Current transformers may be mounted around the bushings.
Remote control
The NXB can be provided with a stainless steel pole mounted control box sealed to IP55 and incorporating:
- 24 VDC battery and charger
- Open/Close Remote/Local Control
- Battery monitor device
- VT Supply fail
- Radio & RTU (to customer approved standards)
- Earth fault passage indicator
- Auto sectionalizing
One control box can control up to four NXB switches.
