Personal Air Purifier is a unique solution designed to improve air quality and health in Control Room environments. The system address PH1 particles, which can cause serious respiratory diseases such as asthma, pneumonia and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, the Air Purifier can be easily integrated into ABB’s Operator Wellbeing Service (OWS) digital platform, and is the latest addition to ABB’s portfolio of solutions designed to improve operator wellbeing, boost productivity and avoid shutdowns.

Globally, air pollution is one of the greatest environmental risks to personal health. Studies show that indoor air can be up to 50 times more polluted than ambient air2. Protecting em-ployees working in Control Room environments is vitally important to keep operators healthy, motivated and productive.

  • Most offices use filters to improve air quality, but these often only remove PM2.5–PM10 particles such as dust and smoke, neglecting more serious PM1 combustion particles, bacteria and viruses3.
