AVPs are authorized according to an ABB group partner program – the ABB Value Provider Program (VPP). These partners provide world-class and globally consistent services. AVPs are regularly trained, audited and authorized. INTECH’s appointment as an AVP comes after months of rigorous planning, preparation and training in order to qualify, clearly signaling a strong commitment towards a collaborative partnership.
Ilpo Ruohonen feels INTECH’s appointment as an AVP will lay the foundation for many future successful collaborations. “By becoming an AVP it means INTECH sees the numerous benefits that come with being the partner of ABB, a global leader in power and automation. INTECH will enjoy greater market exposure and business opportunities and receive support in the areas of marketing, sales, technical services and training,” he said.

According to Eric Fidler, INTECH has strong global presence in the oil and gas industry, primarily in upstream and mid-stream segments. Eric views INTECH’s ability to staff and service customers in remote locations as a key strength they bring to the relationship with ABB. Specifically their reach into markets such as Nigeria, Peru, Ecuador and shale markets in North America helps expand ABB’s reach through this partnership with INTECH. Additionally, INTECH’s long term relationships with major engineering and procurement companies in these markets will bring significant value to the relationship.
When asked about what working with ABB means to INTECH, Eric continued to say, “Partnering with ABB, a top supplier of automation products, helps position INTECH to win business in the integrated control systems product segment. This partnership will also help INTECH and ABB to improve our combined reach into the markets INTECH serves. By jointly serving these markets, our combined industry expertise and knowledge will allow us to pursue and execute future projects. “The scale and flexibility of ABB’s System 800xA family of products provided an ideal fit for the greenfield project that we were pursuing." -- Eric Fidler, President, INTECH
In close cooperation with ABB Control Technologies INTECH was recently awarded a full scope integrated control and safety system contract in Pakistan. The project is for a gas processing plant’s DCS, ESD, F&G system and 30 well-head SCADA.
ABB Control Technologies is providing the state-of-the-art System 800xA control system and a fully integrated 800xA High Integrity safety system which combine to consolidate the major automation component of this project. It will integrate with the ESD, F&G and main SCADA system into one common platform.
On why he felt ABB Control Technologies was selected as the product supplier for the project, Eric Fidler said, “The scale and flexibility of ABB’s System 800xA family of products provided an ideal fit for the greenfield project that we were pursuing. Considering the complexity of the project which required integration of different processing facilities in the plant including gas processing, condensate and LPG, ABB's partnership and products allowed us to create a highly competitive solution.”
INTECH’s reputation for high performance, leading edge technical expertise and their ability to propose a commercially competitive solution resulted in this contract being awarded. More significantly, this is the largest order to date through a channel partner in the Middle East for ABB Control Technologies.
