UCU, the next generation Drive Control Platform provides cybersecurity and flexibility required for the digitalization. It is a dedicated high-performance and future proof platform designed for the Industrial LV and MV Drives portfolio and enables new ways of solving problems.

  • The selected multicore processor with state-of-the-art memory architecture enables new control performance for motor control and onboard analytics to increase uptime.
  • Embedded ethernet fieldbus options will bring flexibility to integrate into the automation system (e.g. using OPC UA).
  • Natively designed to support critical cyber security features, such as secure boot, authentication and encryption of firmware, files and applications enabling certifications against ISA/IEC 62443.
  • The advanced engineering framework enables the ability to create and realize integrated control or analytics applications that run inside the drive.

Short time to market and innovative approaches to solving problems

Crealizer is the built-in solution in the UCU control platform and enables user’s to run control or analytics applications securely inside the drive controller. With access to high resolution data on-board analytics can be done (e.g. FFT analyses). At the same time control applications can influence the torque reference chain to smoothen shaft vibrations to increase the life time of the system and reduce under water noise to make travelling more comfortable for passengers.

Applications can be signed and encrypted to ensure authentication and IP protection.

Edge processing and communication

EGW-02

The edge gateway enables the secure collection, processing and transmission of data from electric powertrains. Edge analytics and digital services can be used to increase system availability, minimize downtimes, identify energy savings and reduce emissions. The gateway can either be integrated into the IT level on site or in the cloud. The compact size in combination with specially developed cooling fins enables a fanless design and reliable operation in tight control cabinets.
