ABB Ability Manufacturing Operations Management Services Release 3.0.3

In the industry today but even more significantly in the future, software-based systems suited for industrial software, such as Manufacturing Operations Management Software, will play a large role. The foundation is the MOM Services platform.

Summary of new functionality:

Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) Services is the staring point as a services platform hosting common functionality across all applications. MOM Services enable easy expansion with Process and Production Intelligence applications when new needs occur.

The main benefits with the release are
  • new connectivity to the installed base of 800xA Information Management historians
  • new Production Intelligence applications for batch data analysis, (--> insert link to page when ready)
  • new Excel Analyze application (--> page still needs to be updated)
  • new Shop Floor Integration for Life Sciences application (--> insert link to page when ready)

With this new release, also the name is changed from Decathlon Services to Manufacturing Operations Management Services.

The apps provide intuitive access to personalized interactive reporting dashboards. Dashboards can include data such as energy consumption, operator logs or alarm lists. The right information is just a swipe away as the software can be easily run on desktop computers or mobile devices.

MOM Services cababilities:

MOM Services is, in addition to being an anchor for the intelligent information infrastructure, also an interactive platform that hosts different software applications

  • Connectivity: to connect to control systems and disparate data sources
  • Data Storage: high capacity process historian tailored for secure long time storage of process data and events
  • Common Services: to ensure a consistent integration environment across all apps
  • User Experience: Empowers decision-makers with the right data at the right time. Easy accessed through the Launchpad.
  • Reporting: supports the users with the reports they need
(Remark, links can be added to the corresponding page, when ready, we can skip it in the first release of this page)

Platform apps

Reporting

MOM Services Reporting is extended with the following new functionality (to be shortened):

  • Tag description is included in the Report Data Source (RDS)
  • Two additional time periods in report scheduler – Monthly (MON) and Yearly (Y)
  • Two new report output formats – Excel (XLXS/XLS) and RTF
  • New Excel and RTF reports can be exported from report tile to several other formats (*.txt, *.html, *.mht, *.docx/doc, *.xml (Word XML), *.epub)
  • Report tile showing latest generated report by report job
  • New storage format of report templates enabling copy/paste/delete of report templates
  • A set of report templates are included to kick-start report configuration

Shop Floor Integration for Life Sciences

The new Shop Floor Integration app provides an integration between Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and 800xA Batch Management, the integrated Batch system of ABB Ability System 800xA. It includes features for automatic parameter assignment and automatic synchronization of 800xA Batch Management recipe procedures and MES. This automated integration significantly reduce the engineering effort of the integration especially with the high validation requirements in a GMP production environment.

Shop Floor Integration is an extension to the MOM offering and runs as a native Connectivity. The connectivity uses OPC Unified Architecture (UA), which is a modern industrial communication protocol that is open, secure, efficient and crossplatform well suited for IoT communication. In a first realization, Shop Floor Integration is integrated with the MES system Werum PAS-X.

News in Production Intelligence apps

The tools you need to analyze data in a production context.

Batch View The new Batch View app is the tool of choice for process engineers to search, browse and find batch production data generated by 800xA Batch Management. The application combines all batch production data such as parameters, events, and trend associations into one single interface powered by the flexible search engine and easy navigation within the familiar Procedure Function Charts (PFC).

Batch Investigate The new Batch Investigate App takes the Batch View App, extends it and turns it into a query tool where users can build advanced queries for any batch data. This makes Batch Investigate the perfect tool for effective investigation of deviations and exceptions.
