For the installation of circuit breakers on board of a train, high safety standards have to be granted. IRIS certification ensure railway components to meet globally recognized levels of quality so to meet different country requirements, complying with the restrictive regulatory requirements and to meet the high quality of standards required.

In addition to the above, Railway Standards requirements have to be fulfilled:

  • Fire and smoke standards; safety regulation design classification related to the flame ignition and fire extinguish, smoke emission for products on board of vehicles. ABB offers molded case breakers compliant to NF F 16-101/102 and EN45545.
  • Shock and vibration standard; strict functional requirements are intended to qualify products to be installed on board where vibration are an operational environment. ABB offers molded case breakers compliant to IEC61373.
