Fleet Support Center as a Service

OVERSEA

Want to know more?

Ship owners and managers are investing in digital solutions to decarbonize their ship operations. However, many are struggling to realize improvements and need more than just tools, they need support!

OVERSEA offers Fleet Support Center as a Service, a novel decision-support service including both an advanced digital solution and support from center experts. OVERSEA is developed by ABB Marine and Ports and Wallenius Marine. We are looking to change the way ship owners and operators can manage their fleet’s performance.

The goal for OVERSEA is to help customers to continuously improve vessel operational performance, including reducing bunker cost and related emissions, as well as improving reliability and safety in parts of the ship operations. To realize any improvements, elements of people, process and systems are required.

With OVERSEA, ship owners and managers can subscribe to support from center experts, interconnected with their vessels and office via the process-driven Oversea Digital Solution, to ensure efficient collaboration. Enabling data to be turned into insights and insights into actions, to realize improvements.

Did you know?

Within the OVERSEA Environmental performance, we offer follow-up and forecast of the carbon intensity indicator: CII. Through advanced analysis, we also provide a breakdown and improvement potential of CII to clearly show what under-performance areas there are in technical and voyage performance.

Software + services

OVERSEA does not only offer a digital solution but also support from fleet center experts. Customers can work with Oversea as a one-stop-shop to gain cost savings by investing in one digital solution and service instead of using several digital tools whilst keeping the tools future proof.

Shore support

OVERSEA is based on a strong centralized support philosophy, putting “the center in the center”. The center operators provide a second pair of eyes and take responsibility for driving the monitoring, analysis, recommendations and follow-up for a few key areas that has a big impact on the operational performance of a vessel.

Wide support scope

OVERSEA has a wide support scope covering all of the relevant areas influencing ship operational performance, including environmental, technical and voyage performance.

OVERSEA Improvement cycle green
Insights to actions

OVERSEA supports the full improvement cycle, turning data into insights and insights into actions. The role of the Oversea center expert is to provide actionable recommendations and to ensure focus on the action phase, so that provided recommendations are indeed executed to realize improvements.

OVERSEA Support areas

In OVERSEA roadmap the aim is to offer a wide, modular and integrated decision-support scope covering the relevant areas influencing ship operational performance, including Environmental, Technical and Voyage Performance.

Ship operational performance can on overall total level be viewed as Environmental Performance as energy efficiency directly translates to emissions. Oversea underlying performance analysis enables breakdown of the overall environmental performance into the main Technical and Voyage Performance contributors, so causes for under-performance can be identified and the right corrective actions to be taken.

Oversea performance analysis is based on continuous high-frequency automatic data collection enriched with manual log records where relevant. Cutting-edge models, combining machine-learning and physics-based methods, are used to enable accurate performance analysis with high granularity results in all areas. Interdependencies between technical and voyage performance are captured i.e., the continuously evaluated technical performance in-service is considered for when optimizing the voyage speed and route, to avoid any sub-optimization.
