Incorporating smaller semiconductors provides better scalability at lower current ranges and results in a more compact footprint, freeing up space for other equipment. The unit can also be configured vertically or horizontally – adding to its design flexibility – with up to six semiconductors in parallel.
A highlight of the LCR900 is its integrated water channels which provide effective double cooling of the semiconductors. The routing of the channels is designed to minimize extensive outside hose connections via a reliable FEB hose AIGNEP connector system.
As with any ABB rectifier, the LCR900 has been extensively tested to meet the latest IEC safety standards. Its semiconductors, for example, are equipped with a unique protection ring that eliminates the risk of a secondary flashover or semiconductor explosion. It also features the mechanical separation of positive and negative DC potential.
Furthermore, each semiconductor is equipped with a high-speed current limiting fuse for selective isolation in case of a failure, enabling nominal load operation when a semiconductor is out of service.
With industry-leading reliability, modularity, scalability and availability as well as low maintenance and IP00 protection, the LCR900 is suitable for the most demanding low current application environments.
