What is Remote Assistance?
How does it work?

ABB Ability™ Remote Assistance is an on-demand  expert support solution that allows ABB engineers to remotely access and analyze Stressometer and MTG C-Frame gauge systems. Complimenting existing digital tools in metal plants, it provides expert troubleshooting, diagnostics, and guidance directly from ABB specialists, helping optimize system performance and reduce downtime.

Service event

Remote Assistance operates through a secure architecture centered on ABB’s hardened MicroEdge device, enabling ABB engineers to safely connect to the plant’s flatness computer or MTG operator station.

  • Uses a MicroEdge device with firewalls, secure boot, TPM 2.0, and DSAC certification.
  • ABB engineers can view live data and historical benchmarks from the flatness computer or MTG station only when access is granted by customer representatives.

This solution is offered as part of ABB Measurement Care service agreement.
