ABB’s relay retrofit program for SPACOM offers a seamless replacement of selected SPACOM relays with REX615, representing the latest protection and control technology.
Retrofitting a relay extends the lifetime of switchgear, ensures full availability of relay life-cycle services, and provides the opportunity to adapt your power protection system to meet new requirements.
The functionality of REX615 includes everything that the old SPACOM relays are capable of, but the new generation of relays can also be configured to include additional protection functions. As REX615 fully supports the IEC 61850 standard for communication and interoperability of substation automation devices, the program also provides an opportunity to upgrade the entire communication system to meet today’s protection and communication requirements.
