The H-valve enables the interconnection of one dedicated line and two pigged lines or three pigged lines together that increases flexibility and uptime of lines.

The interconnected lines can operate separately:

  • In a closed position, the line is perfectly piggable without retention area.
  • In an open position, the product is transferred from one line to the other, and the plug is used as pig stopping device enabling the complete emptying of the line.

Limit switches:

On ABB pigged equipment, you can choose between two types of actuators for limit switches, regardless utility or process valve

  • Single detection: the actuator has only close detection with one digital input
  • Double detection: the actuator has open & close detection with 2 digital inputs

PID Symbol:

It is perfectly fine if you are not an expert in PID symbols.  We are here to assist you.   

Let’s take type 862 as an example:   

  • The letters “O” and “C” represent "open" and "close," respectively, based on double detection. This means that if you select the type with a single detection, the PID symbol will only show a “C.”

Specific option availability

Option 1) Coated Piston
  • Used for sticky product to limit scaling issue around the piston
  • Mainly used for emulsion product transfer
Coating is applied to the entire surface of the piston to prevent deterioration or breakdown of the valve and can be reapplied to extend its lifespan. However, ABB strongly recommends using coating only on resin pigged lines in this specific case. Otherwise, this option may negatively impact the piston's lifespan.
 
Option 2) Hazardous area (EX)
 With your I.S. barrier installed in cabinet alongside the loop calculation, ABB supplies safe sensors and actuators to prevent the occurrence of sparks which could be a source of explosion.
  • Approved for EX II 1G/2G Ex ia IIC
  • The sensor is 8,2V (namur) type
  • The solenoid valve is between 14VDC to 28VDC
ABB design equipment with intrinsic safety technology that allows safe maintenance, without shutdown the power, using low voltage and low current.

Future replacements

It is recommended to include extra spare parts in the quotation for conducting the usual preliminary tests before starting your production.

This product includes six spare parts:
