The ABB tiered service plan offerings enable you to select what is important for your particular operation. In addition to the foundational components that come with every ABB Care plan, Hoist Care PROTECT provides a number of preventative maintenance benefits.

This plan includes:

Contract management and single point of contact.
ABB preventative maintenance schedule agreed for:
- Electrical powertrain
- Mechanical equipment
- Control and brake systems.

Hoist Care PROTECT also includes:

An engineer and operator training program.
PM kits specifically designed for hoist & assessment of spares
Detailed lifecycle assessment of hoist system, subsystems and components
Optional LEAP assessment for motors.
ABB Ability™ Safety Plus for hoists software maintenance subscription (SIL)

Hoist Care PROTECT+

Customers who have agreed to the Hoist Care PROTECT plan are also eligible for PROTECT+ services. As part of our goal at ABB we connect with local service providers to ensure rapid response and improvements to performance of your complete hoist system.

These additional services encompass:

Preventative maintenance on hoist ropes.
OEM annual inspection of hoist ropes.
Integrated rope change supervision.

For mining organizations looking for solutions that take them on a more proactive maintenance journey, the SMART package incorporates condition-monitoring services. This is in addition to all the inclusions in the PROTECT plan. Importantly, the Hoist Care SMART plan includes ABB Ability™ Smart Hoisting. This platform can collect, monitor, and analyze data on key performance indicators.

Together with the ABB Ability™ Smart Hoisting platform, the Hoist Care SMART package includes a predictive maintenance platform. This provides condition-based monitoring on your complete hoist system, including:

This is the most comprehensive ABB Care plan for mine hoists, whereby ABB handles all the maintenance of your hoist system. This plan includes all the inclusions of the Hoist Care SOLO and PROTECT packages, including the predictive digital suite within the Hoist Care SMART plan. Under this plan, ABB can guarantee the availability of your mine hoist.
