Michelle's journey began in 1974, when she joined what was then the Fischer & Porter Company, a US leader in the design and manufacture of flow measurement products, later acquired by Elsag Bailey Process Automation - both ABB heritage brands.
She started as a union employee in an administration role, steadily progressing through roles such as Calculator Assembler in the Calibration Department.
In the 1980s, Michelle transitioned to a full-time role within the Spare Parts Division. She subsequently moved to the Planning Department where she managed the finished goods warehouses in both Houston, Texas and Warminster, Pennsylvania.
In the 1990’s, Michelle moved to a Production Planner role for the Warminster factory. During this time, she played a crucial role in introducing four generations of magnetic flowmeter technology.
In 1999, the acquisition of Elsag Bailey by ABB took place, and Michelle supported product portfolio change management.
In 2008, Michelle played an integral part as Superuser for the successful implementation of SAP in several ABB modules.
Today, Michelle holds the esteemed position of Master Material Planner for Flow Products. In this role, she oversees all aspects of material and production planning, including inventory optimization.
“What sets Michelle apart is her unwavering dedication to helping colleagues,” said Anil Desale, General Manager at ABB Instrumentation in the US. “She is the person you turn to with questions.”
Michelle believes that the key skills for success at ABB are curiosity, the courage to ask questions, and adaptability.
In recognition of her 50 years of service, the ABB management team has extended their heartfelt congratulations to Michelle for her dedication, resilience, and the positive impact on the ABB family over the years.
