ABB is in the running for several awards, including the Digital Transformation Award.

ABB’s work in the field of digital innovation is being recognized in this year’s Instrumentation & Electronics Awards. ABB is in the running with several nominations including for the Digital Transformation Award, Best Customer Service Award for the integration of Service and Digital, and Industry Personality of the Year Award for David Lincoln for his work on Generative AI in industrial operations.

ABB earned its nomination for the Digital Transformation Award for introducing the first AI-powered solution designed to support maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial measurement devices – My Measurement Assistant+. My Measurement Assistant+ is a single access point for information retrieval, diagnostics and remote support. It massively simplifies maintenance and troubleshooting by providing instant access to device health information. For example, a maintenance manager using the platform can quickly assess device health, access manuals, error codes and spare part information, ensuring that operations continue without interruption.

A part of ABB’s digital leadership team, David Lincoln has been nominated for Industry Personality of the Year. David has been at the forefront of using Gen AI to revolutionize how plant operators manage and utilize the vast amounts of data generated on a daily basis, earning him recognition as a leader and innovator in the field.

“ABB has paved the way for the integration of AI in everyday operations, allowing for faster problem-solving and more effective resource management,” said David Lincoln, Global Digital Lead at ABB’s Measurement & Analytics division. “AI is already being integrated into real-world applications across industries. From automating repetitive tasks to enabling smart decision-making, AI is not just a tool - it’s becoming a partner to this and the next generation workforce.”

With close to 30 years at ABB, David Lincoln sees his nomination as a recognition of ABB’s leadership in the digital field.

“Every day ABB empowers customers across the globe to optimize, electrify and decarbonize. The digital transformation is an incredible opportunity for industries striving to be more productive, efficient, and sustainable,” Lincoln said. “Thanks to AI, engineers are now able to focus more on problem-solving and high-value tasks, rather than getting bogged down by routine operations.”

ABB is also in the running for the Best Customer Service Award for integrating Service and Digital to redefine customer experience. ABB understands that operational excellence isn’t just built on innovative technology, but on the people and processes that keep that technology performing at its best. That’s why ABB has redefined service by integrating its technical expertise with digital innovation, creating a customer-centric approach that delivers proactive, responsive, and tailored support throughout the lifecycle of ABB’s solutions.

In the Software Solution of the Year, ABB is nominated for CEM-DAS, the first software system in the world to pass the EN 17255 standard, the new international benchmark for data acquisition in emissions monitoring. ABB’s high performance versatile P-300 pressure transmitter is also in the running.

The awards will be presented on 23 October at a ceremony in London organized by Instrumentation Monthly publisher Datateam Business Media.
