Required Additional Files

Field Information Manager requires additional files for working with FIM Bridge 800xA:

• Communication Server Device Package (so-called "FDIX") of FIM Bridge 800xA so that it can be added as a Communication Server.
• Component Device Packages for nested communication (so-called "FIMLETs") of ABB Ability™ System 800xA components, such as AC800M controllers or Remote I/O Systems like S800 I/O, S900 I/O or Select I/O.

FIM Bridge 800xA as a Windows Service
Basic part of the FIM connectivity to ABB Ability™ System 800xA is the FIM Bridge 800xA which is installed as a Windows service. It is based on a FDI Communication Server and allows Field Information Manager to access ABB Ability™ System 800xA.
