Advant MOD 300 is widely installed and supported ABB DCS. Many customers have already enhanced their Advant system by adding the System 800xA HMI, AC 800M controller and S800 I/O in order to extend the life-time of the system and benefit from the latest technologies.

The MOD 300 System was introduced in 1984 with features such as Integrated Control Languages CCF and TCL, Redundant Communication Network (DCN), Redundant Controllers Model A and B, History and Reports, Bulk Data I/O and Multibus Operator Consoles. All of these products are in the Obsolete life cycle phase since 2010.

In 1988 the MOD 300 control system was enhanced by the addition of the SC Controller, Taylor Ladder Logic (TLL) and TRIO I/O.
In 1992, the MOD 300 system began its evolution to the Advant platform introducing the high capacity controllers AC460, AC410 and the rack mounted S100 I/O featuring an improved redundancy scheme. Also included were UNIX based workstations for operations and engineering. In 1996, the modular flexible remote S800 I/O was added. Additionally, remote EX S800 I/O for connection to transmitters in hazardous areas was released in the late 1990s.

In 2004, Advant MOD 300 began its next step in the evolution process with the introduction of System 800xA enabled products,  by introducing System 800xA HMI for Advant MOD300.

Furthermore, the proven AC 800M controller provides an evolution path for AC460 based systems. These controllers have been successfully implemented in multiple evolution projects worldwide.
