Your challenges, our solutions
Here’s how ABB’s chlorine measurement range can help you.
How can we support your organization?
Here are some of the ways our chlorine management tools can benefit your industry.
Sensor or Cell?
Find out which sensor is right for your needs
You need the
Sensor if...
The ChloroStar™ Sensor has a membrane covering, making it ideal for:
- Drinking water disinfection
- Distribution monitoring
- Power plant and industrial water cooling
This smart digital sensor is designed for use with our InFlow Multi-Cell, allowing a number of sensors to be connected in series for a true plug and play measurement solution.
The membrane-covered design makes it ideal for measuring either free or total chlorine without the need for any additional sample buffering – even in applications where the pH may fluctuate! Its ability to cope with minimal sample flow makes it ideal for applications such as drinking water treatment or distribution.
Delivering outstanding measurement stability, this smart sensor is easy to use thanks to ABB’s EZLink™ technology. Combined with the InFlow Multi-Cell, it provides stable measurement independent of variations in sample flow even down to >1 l/h (0.26 galUS/h)*
Key specifications
- Measurement: Free chlorine, total chlorine
- Measurement range: 0 to 20 mg/l (ppm)
- Sample pH: 4 to 11
- Sample flow rate: >1 l/h (0.26 galUS/h)*
- Approvals: CE, ATEX/IECEx
* For flow rates <10 l/min the Steady Flow module is required.
You need the
Cell if...
The ChloroStar™ Cell measures accurately even when there is a lot of fouling, such as:
- Tertiary wastewater applications
- High particulate load (sand)
- Fruit and vegetable disinfection baths
This compact self-contained chlorine measurement solution comes complete with integral pressure regulation and the ability to directly connect up to two additional sensors. The self-cleaning, open-cell, flow-through design means that it won’t block or clog like other types of sensors, making it ideal for high-fouling applications like wastewaters or when you need to measure chlorine or chlorine dioxide under stable pH conditions*
It offers outstanding reliability and durability thanks to its unique self-cleaning design that uses the sample flow to clean the electrodes, ensuring tip-top sensitivity even in high- fouling applications.
Key specifications
- Measurement: Free chlorine, chlorine dioxide, total chlorine*
- Measurement range: 0 to 20 mg/l (ppm)
- Sample pH: 4 to 7.5*
- Sample flow rate: 60-75 l/h (0.26-0.33 galUS/min)
- Approvals: CE
* For waters with high (>8 pH) or variable pH levels, or for total chlorine measurement, an additional buffer is required.
