Freelance Distributed Control System (DCS)

Freelance is a full-fledged distributed control system that combines the advantages of DCS and PLC: the small footprint of a PLC, together with the full functionality of a DCS.

The integrated environment simplifies engineering, commissioning, maintenance and fieldbus management. The intuitive operator interface enables easy operation and diagnosis of the entire system. Freelance is proven more then 30 years and fully compatible with older versions.

With this new version, Freelance takes the next step into the future. Freelance 2024 provides significant improvements in all areas: scalability, usability, connectivity, compatibility and security.

The most powerful controller in the Freelance controller portfolio supports various fieldbuses and protocols like PROFIBUS, Modbus or CAN and can optionally be used redundant. Different CPU types are available.

A PLC-like controller supports various fieldbuses and protocols like PROFIBUS, Modbus or Telecontrol. It typically supports 300 I/O signals per controller.

S800 I/O for Freelance

A comprehensive, distributed and modular process I/O system that communicates with Freelance controllers via PROFIBUS.

S800L I/O for Freelance

These modules are both, cost-effective and time-saving. They connect to Freelance controllers via PROFIBUS.

Can be installed directly in zone 1 and zone 2 hazardous areas, compliant to G3 for harsh environments. Communicates via PROFIBUS.

800xA for Freelance provides the connectivity between Freelance and System 800xA extended automation capabilities.
