During the presentation, Naomi discussed the abilities of the B&R machine vision systems and how they have become game-changing technology for manufacturers across industries. She highlighted the remarkable capabilities of advanced image processing that are revolutionising various industries. These systems empower machines to see and comprehend visual data, paving the way for automation and ensuring top-notch quality control.

“Our B&R vision systems have been helping our customers in Australia improve their product quality and processes in the production line. We have successfully implemented our systems in various industries like food and beverage and mining, to name a few. We pride ourselves in working together with our customers to achieve the results they need,” says Naomi.

“Our customers are experiencing increased costs in manufacturing today than ever before. High end vision and robotic systems previously were quite costly to implement, however with new technology and our integration services, we are now able to automate these processes quickly, to ensure more consistent product throughput,” says Naveen Nadesan, National Sales and Marketing Manager, Remtron.

In this engaging session, Naomi provided an overview of the impressive B&R vision systems, exploring their wide-ranging applications and promising future. She explained in detail the technology behind these systems and even gave a demonstration of the vision solution, making the session interactive and insightful. The topics Naomi discussed at the event:

Applications in various industries

Machine vision systems find applications across various industries, transforming processes and ensuring consistent quality. Let's explore some of the most prominent applications.

Manufacturing and production

Machine vision systems streamline quality control processes in manufacturing. They detect defects, verify product codes and monitor packaging, significantly reducing errors and optimising efficiency.

Pharmaceuticals and medical devices

Machine vision systems are critical in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. They inspect the packaging for accuracy, verify labels and detect contaminants, guaranteeing product safety and compliance with regulations.

Food and beverage

With stringent quality requirements, the industry relies on machine vision systems for reliable inspection. They identify contaminants, check packaging integrity and ensure accurate labelling, maintaining consumer trust.

Future possibilities

Using deep learning-based machine vision algorithms, B&R is introducing innovative opportunities for enhanced quality, increased productivity, improved safety measures and minimal waste in manufacturing processes. One of the initial advancements is to develop optical character recognition (OCR) functions based on deep learning. This OCR function demonstrates exceptional speed and accuracy when reading even the most challenging fonts. As machine vision systems progress, they are venturing into previously unexplored areas and expanding their applications.
