Transparency with our customers and stakeholders is an important part of our business philosophy as it helps build trust. For this reason, opened the doors to our Large Motors and Generators factories in Jüri, Estonia, and Helsinki, Finland where we organised comprehensive tours to our customers. During our visit to the ABB Motors and Generators factory, we got a detailed look at the facility’s structure, number of employees, production area and space and other important aspects, which were presented by the ABB Motors and Generators business manager Argo Aavik. We also explored what industries benefit from ABB products produced in this factory and learned about isolation technologies. In addition, we had a tour in the production facilities where we learned about isolation technology.
In Large Motors and Generators factory in Helsinki we learned in detail about electric motor testing methods and protocols, special test procedures, key figures, quality control measures. Moreover, we saw the assembly line for electric motors.
Traveling by the ferry from Tallinn to Helsinki was also a memorable part of the trip explains Petras Dagelis, Lithuanian ABB Motion Sales Specialist.
The tour of the ferry's ABB powered machinery was truly impressive, giving a firsthand look at the engines and generators that drive marine excellence and create interesting conversations and dialogue with customers.
We were able to visit engine room and captain’s bridge in an innovative vessel operated by Tallink Grupp a major shipping company in the Baltic Sea region. The MyStar ferry is known for its advanced features, low-emission engines, automated systems for navigation, engine control, and other essential functions. Here the Chief Engineer showed our customer the engine room where most of the components are produced by ABB. Our customers could see the result by ABB Marine and our products (drives, generators, motors) in action. They could feel how all the equipment works synchronously to move a huge vessel and what loud sound it produces.
