ABB enrolls with EPLAN Partner Network

ABB has joined the EPLAN Partner Network operated by EPLAN, a best-in-class provider of software and services in the fields of electrical, automation and mechatronic engineering - improving the productivity of project planning by 30 percent and reducing design risk for engineers specifying ABB systems.

Designed to support machine and panel builders, OEMs, system integrators and service providers to move towards complete digitization, ABB and EPLAN have agreed an integration of software assets to improve the customer experience. The focus of the collaboration will be the incorporation of ABB’s e-Configure platform within the EPLAN Data Portal. This provides added value for customers through seamless integrations between these best-in-class software products, enabling them to select and design the optimum solution to fulfil their specific application needs.

The EPLAN Data Portal delivers high-quality data for all engineering disciplines within the industrial automation ecosystem. Connected to the cloud to provide convenient remote access, it is the back-bone for all major systems used by customers to create projects.

ABB’s cloud-based e-Configure platform allows customers to find, select, configure and then order products quickly and simply. Saving valuable time on the configuration of low-voltage products and accessories, which is traditionally time consuming and complicated.

Alessandro Galasso, Marketing and Applications Manager for ABB Smart Power division,  Electrification Business Area explains: “With the integration of the ABB e-Configure platform within the EPLAN Data Portal, it will be easy for customers to select and configure ABB components within their EPLAN projects – simplifying the design process. Designing a panel for a given application will therefore become easier and more streamlined, with the end-to-end process shortened.”

“We are committed to expanding the scope of our partnership and fully leveraging our digital platforms, such as ABB Connect Partner Hub, to enhance the user experience by providing seamless integrations between the ABB and EPLAN tools going forward” adds Erika Velazquez, Digital Ecosystem Manager for ABB’s Electrification Business Area.

Marco Litto, Senior Vice President Strategy & Corporate Program, for EPLAN adds: “By collaborating with a leading global technology company such as ABB, we will provide digital integrations to optimize the customer journey across the complete value chain, from engineering and production to the operation of systems.”
