HySec comprises the functions of three different devices: vacuum circuit breaker, SF6 line disconnector and SF6 earthing switch. It is ideal for use in medium voltage switchgears for secondary distribution, where simplicity and compactness are required.
The upper part of the apparatus is composed by epoxy resin housing three vacuum interrupters, thus providing circuit breaker function and features. The lower part is composed by stainless steel and performs the functions of line disconnector (used to isolate the cables from the busbars) and earthing switch (used to earth the cables).
HySec is available as stand-alone solution as well as in ABB UniSec medium voltage switchgear unit type HBC.
